Projects Apreamare 64
Apreamare 64 teak deck

01
The vessel
The Apreamare 64 is a motor yacht. Like every deck we build, hers was a one-off geometry: margin planks, king planks and the run of the seams follow this hull, not a standard panel size.
02
What we did
Templating
The deck was templated before any teak was cut: a full-size record of its geometry, every edge, every fitting and every change of angle, accurate enough that a panel cut from it fits, with only the last details adjusted by hand on board.
Production in the workshop
Planks were cut to the vessel’s geometry and assembled into panels sized for transport and fitting. Seams were filled, cured and sanded flat in the workshop, where conditions are controlled, and the panels were numbered and packed flat.
Installation on board
The substrate was ground back to sound material and checked for moisture before anything went down. The panels were dry-fitted first, then fixed down. On board it is the joins, the margins and the final pass that make the deck read as one surface.
03
The result
Because the caulking and the first sanding were done in the workshop, the work on board was bonding, trimming and the final pass over the joins.
